China wire and cable exports continued to recover in 2026. According to customs data compiled by SMM, August exports rose 2.42% month on month and 8.85% year on year to 284,000 tonnes, while cumulative January-August exports reached 2.131 million tonnes, up 9.21% year on year.
Copper cable exports performed especially well, rising 16.74% YoY in August to 144,000 tonnes, with cumulative January-August exports of 1.06 million tonnes, up 15.61% YoY, well above the industry average.
Growth is driven by simultaneous demand recovery across multiple overseas markets, including infrastructure and grid upgrades in Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America, plus steady European procurement amid grid upgrades and renewable integration.
Analysts forecast China 2026 cable exports to reach 3.59 million tonnes, up about 14% YoY. For RF coaxial cable makers, accelerating overseas communication infrastructure and satellite ground-station construction opens new growth space for high-end RF cable exports.
